Method is more important than strength, when you wish to control your enemies. By dropping golden beads near a snake, a crow once managed to have a passer-by kill the snake for the beads.

~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Do you really think that happend Abe, or is it more likely that Henry just thought it sounded nice...he WAS a poet you know?

Now I know you like crows.
I know crows are smart.
I know crows collect shiny objects.

I also know I have no call to interfere with the "magic moment" that quote by Longfellow gave you, I just saw a chance to maybe help YOU "see" what a person Like Sil or Luke or myself or many others must put up with in an effort to share our thoughts with friends.

love and light

" If we become AWARE that we are thinking...then what is that part that is observing...that can make that assessment? If thinking equals Being, then we wouldn't realize we're "thinking' in the first place! We'd be like a dreamer "who doesn't know he is dreaming". :a009:

I don't know if it really happened as he tells us, but I do know it is very well possible.

Crows collect shiny objects, yes. But they also know we humans love shiny things a lot too.. and that we will kill a snake to get them if it's in our way.

Maybe you should start writing poems when you want to share your thoughts and feelings?

Who is Luke?

" Who is Luke? "

Maybe Mark? Some one who was treated disgustingly on SR a while back. I may not remember the name...but I'll never forget the gang on treatment he indured.

Write poetry?
Naw!
l"ll just stop sharing.

I don't know of any Luke posting on SR, and Mark often signed his posts with "Mark", so it was no mystery who he really was.

Let's stick to quotes, please, , shall we? Post the ones that you think are funny, spiritual, clever, deep, weird, crazy, whatever.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is impotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Whence then is evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

-Epicurus 340 - 270 BCE

I must not fear. Fear is the mindkiller. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will allow it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
(litany against fear from Dune - Frank Herbert)

"Can you remember when Americans were berated for making
too many cars, building too many houses, buying too many consumer items,
and going far into dept? Today, all of those indicators are down.
People are saving, new homes are not being added to the existing inventory
at yesteryear' s pace, people are keeping their existing cars longer and they
are being prudent in their spending (and investing). So where's the problem?
Why are the talking heads in the media and congress whining endlessly?
I guess that's what they do. Carry on."

(DOW on its way DOWn to 7000)

The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.
